Please find below my own action version of the story adapted for younger children:

One day Peter and John were walking to the Temple (a place where the Jews worshipped God) and as they walked a man who had poorly legs that didn't work was sat up on the floor. Can you sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you? Well this man was sat just like that because he couldn't use his legs...They wouldn't work! This man was begging for money and shouted out to Peter and John "Please can you spare a penny for a lame man so he can eat!"
Peter and John looked at the man and explained to him that they didn't have any pennies. They then told the man to stand up in Jesus' name and do you know what? He did! Everyone jump up on their feet with happy smiles on their faces. The man was so very happy that he jumped up and down and couldn't stop thanking God for what he had done for him. Can you jump up and down on the spot like that man could with a happy face?

Activity:   1,The children can then act out the story with their finger puppets.

                 2, Get the children to show you what they use their legs for...for hopping, running on the spot, for walking,for dancing and for jumping.

Sunday School : Peter and John pray for the lame man.

Make a paper finger puppet of the lame man. Print out the template below, cut out the figure of the man and the two holes for his legs and once the children have coloured them in show them how to slip their fingers in through the holes to become the lame man's legs.
